A wave of new brands

Of the 51 crypto casinos we currently track for Canadian players, 13 — roughly a quarter — launched in 2024 or later. That's a fast pace of new entrants for a market this size, and it means new players today have meaningfully more choice among recently launched brands than they would have had two or three years ago.

The pace hasn't been even across the two years. Eleven of the thirteen new brands launched in 2024 alone, with growth slowing sharply after that: one new brand in 2025 (StoneVegas), and one so far in 2026 (Motherland). Whether that reflects a genuine cooldown in new launches or simply fewer brands having reached our review threshold in 2026 is something we'll be watching over the next few months.

A wave like this isn't unique to crypto casinos — new entrants have been common across both regulated and offshore gambling as operators chase a growing base of Canadian players comfortable depositing in Bitcoin, Ethereum or stablecoins. What's different for a new crypto brand, compared with a newly licensed regulated operator, is the absence of a shared oversight body vetting the launch before it goes live. There's no equivalent of Alberta's AGLC or Ontario's AGCO standing behind an offshore casino's first day online, which is exactly why the checklist further down this page matters more here than it would for a newly regulated brand.

Several of these already rank among our higher-scoring casinos: Imperial Wins, Rollero and Golden Panda all currently sit in our top 10 overall, alongside longer-established names like Stake and Cloudbet — evidence that a recent launch date isn't on its own a mark against a brand. Winna, launched the same year, currently sits in our top five — see our full ranking for how it compares to Stake and Cloudbet.

A launch date alone doesn't tell you much

Launch year is the easiest fact to check about a new brand, which is also why it's the least useful one on its own. It says nothing about payout reliability, whether support responds when something goes wrong, or how a bonus's wagering requirement compares to the rest of the market. That's why our own scoring system treats launch date as background context rather than one of the six factors we weight directly.

The three 2024 brands that already rank in our top ten — Imperial Wins, Rollero and Golden Panda — earned that placement the same way older brands did: by clearing our bar on payout speed, bonus fairness, licensing and support, not by virtue of being new. The other ten 2024-and-later brands haven't necessarily done anything wrong; most simply haven't accumulated the review history yet to climb as high, which is a different problem from a low score.

What to check before you join a new brand

A new casino carries less of a track record than one that's operated for a decade, so a bit of extra checking pays off. Three things worth confirming before depositing at any of the brands above:

  • The licence is real and current — check the regulator's own register rather than trusting a footer logo. Licensing across our full 51-casino database breaks down as shown below, and six brands currently have licensing we couldn't confirm.
  • A small first withdrawal actually clears before depositing anything larger, since payout speed and reliability are the hardest things to judge from marketing alone.
  • The wagering requirement on any welcome bonus — new brands often lead with an aggressive-looking bonus to attract early volume, and the terms behind it matter more than the headline number.

None of the 13 new brands above are exempt from this checklist just because they've already scored well with us — Imperial Wins' place in our current top five, for instance, comes with the slowest payout window in our top ten, exactly the kind of trade-off a quick licence check won't reveal.

What it means for players

New brands frequently compete on the terms that are easiest to advertise — deposit match size, free spin counts — because that's what gets attention while they're building a reputation. That's also why our rating methodology weights licensing, payout speed and bonus fairness together rather than any single figure in isolation.

Measured against the market medians above, a new brand offering wagering well past 35x or a minimum deposit far from $20 isn't automatically a scam, but it is a brand asking you to accept worse-than-typical terms in exchange for being new — a trade worth making deliberately, not by accident. Players curious about the newest arrivals can browse our new crypto casinos page, which tracks recent launches as we review them, and our how we rate page explains the six factors behind every score in our database.
