Stablecoins Now Dominate Crypto Casino Betting, Data Shows
Stablecoins take the lead
Crypto casinos have quietly moved away from volatile coins as the default betting currency. Two independent trend reports published in 2026 — one from DeucesCracked, one from on-chain analytics firm Surgence — reach a similar conclusion from different angles: stablecoins, not Bitcoin or Ethereum, now account for the majority of wagers placed at crypto casinos in 2026, with USDT alone making up roughly 60% of stablecoin betting volume. Broader industry coverage of the 2026 crypto-gambling market points the same direction, with several 2026 analytics write-ups describing stablecoins crossing half of all crypto-denominated wagers at licensed and semi-licensed operators — a threshold that would have looked unusual even two years ago.
That shift in behaviour shows up on the supply side too. Our own database of 51 crypto casinos serving Canadian players — refreshed in September 2026 — shows operators adding USDT support faster than almost any coin category, trailing only the two market leaders, Bitcoin and Ethereum. See how we rate for how coin support factors into our scoring.
Coin acceptance across the 51 casinos we track
Here is how many of the 51 casinos in our September 2026 database accept each major coin, and what share of the full list that represents:
| Coin | Casinos accepting | Share of 51 |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin (BTC) | 46 of 51 | 90% |
| Ethereum (ETH) | 42 of 51 | 82% |
| Litecoin (LTC) | 41 of 51 | 80% |
| Tether (USDT) | 38 of 51 | 75% |
| Dogecoin (DOGE) | 34 of 51 | 67% |
| Bitcoin Cash (BCH) | 20 of 51 | 39% |
| Tron (TRX) | 19 of 51 | 37% |

USDT ranks fourth by how many casinos list it as a deposit option, but by the trend reports above, it ranks first by actual money wagered — a gap that says more about how players choose to hold their balance mid-session than about which coins operators simply support on paper. Support is also broad rather than concentrated among a handful of household names: 38 of 51 casinos already accept USDT, more than double the number that accept XRP and close behind Dogecoin, suggesting stablecoin support has moved from an early differentiator toward something closer to a baseline expectation.
Why players are moving off volatile coins
The logic behind the shift is straightforward. A Bitcoin or Ethereum balance can move several percentage points during a single betting session, stacking a second source of variance on top of whatever a player wins or loses at the tables. Parking funds in a dollar-pegged token removes that variable entirely, so a $100 deposit is still worth $100 whether it's cashed out an hour later or a week later — a property that matters more the longer a session runs.
Network cost plays a role too. Nineteen of the 51 casinos we track accept TRX, the token of the Tron network, and that matters because USDT issued on Tron typically settles for a fraction of a cent in fees, compared with a meaningfully higher cost on Ethereum. Industry coverage of the 2026 crypto-gambling market points to the same pairing of factors — cheap, fast settlement rails plus a stable unit of account — as the reason stablecoin rails have gone from a niche feature to close to a default among larger operators.
There's a practical side too, separate from price stability. A player who wins big in a volatile coin faces a decision the moment the payout lands — cash out immediately and lock in the value, or hold and accept the risk of a swing before converting to CAD. A stablecoin balance removes that decision entirely, which is one reason operators increasingly let players convert winnings into USDT internally even when the original bet was placed in BTC or ETH.
What it means for players
For Canadian players, stablecoin support is no longer a niche feature to hunt for — it's close to standard among the larger, more established operators in our database, and its absence on a smaller or newer site is worth noting rather than assumed. Anyone who wants to avoid market swings between deposit and cashout should confirm a casino's supported coin list before funding an account, and check which network a casino settles USDT on, since Tron-based withdrawals tend to be both faster and cheaper than the Ethereum equivalent.
Confirm a casino lists USDT before assuming it does — 13 of the 51 we track still don't.
Check which blockchain a casino settles USDT on; Tron withdrawals are typically faster and cheaper than Ethereum ones.
Consider converting a volatile-coin win to USDT inside a casino wallet before deciding when to cash out to CAD.
The direction of travel looks unlikely to reverse. As long as dollar-pegged tokens keep offering the same speed advantages as other crypto rails without the price risk, expect the gap between "accepts USDT" and "settles most bets in USDT" to keep narrowing across the market we track. Our USDT payment guide lists which of the 51 tracked casinos support it and how withdrawals are handled network by network, and our full payment methods page covers every coin in the table above.
