What the Commission Announced

On October 6, 2026 the Kahnawà:ke Gaming Commission (KGC), the regulator based in the Mohawk Territory just outside Montréal, published an advisory notice about one of its licensees. The Client Provider Authorization (CPA) held by Polar Ventures SDRL was suspended with effect from September 29, 2026, following a Show Cause Notice — the step in which the Commission asks an operator to explain why it should keep its permit. The notice gives no reason for the suspension.

A CPA is the permit that lets an operator run a casino, poker room or sportsbook from the Kahnawà:ke hosting facility. Suspension is not the end of it: the notice says Polar remains bound by its other obligations under the Kahnawake Gaming Law and that the Commission will keep accepting complaints about Polar filed after the effective date.

What the notice does not contain is just as telling. Earlier suspension notices listed the websites that had to stop taking bets. When the Commission suspended Einrai Ltd. on March 3, 2026, it named three domains; the True North notice of December 23, 2024 named one. The Polar notice names none. The public permit-holder list does not fill the gap either: when we read it on October 7, 2026, Polar Ventures SDRL appeared as a CPA holder with no URL attached. It is one of 13 holders out of 55 listed without any website, which means a player cannot tell from Kahnawà:ke's own pages which casino brand, if any, is affected.

How Previous Kahnawà:ke Suspensions Ended

The Commission's archive shows that a suspension can be resolved quickly or drag on for months, and that the end point decides what a player can still do. Here are the recent CPA suspensions it has published:

The difference between the two outcomes matters for complaints. While a CPA is suspended, the Commission keeps hearing disputes. Once it is revoked, the Einrai revocation notice states that complaints submitted after the effective date will not be received or considered. The same cut-off applies to voluntary exits: Elentertain SRL (June 17, 2026), Firo Lod N.V. (June 26) and Cartwheel B.V. (July 1) all left in good standing, and none of the three names is on the permit list any more.

Kahnawà:ke Brands in Our Reviews: What the List Confirms

Three of the casinos we review cite a Kahnawà:ke licence, and a fourth is often described that way in third-party reviews. We matched all four against the permit-holder list to see whether the regulator's own page pairs the brand with a CPA holder. None of them is tied to Polar Ventures SDRL.

Two caveats come with that list. It carries no licence numbers, so a CPA number printed in a casino footer can only be checked against the operator name and domain. And the page still opens with the line "Updated September 28, 2023", even though its contents clearly move — the three holders that left in June and July 2026 have already been removed. Rocket Riches is the instructive case: the Kahnawà:ke licence attributed to it elsewhere is not on the list and not in the operator's own terms, which name only its Curaçao licence — so a KGC notice could never reach it either way.

The Complaint Window Is the Part That Bites

Kahnawà:ke's dispute process is one of the few routes an offshore player has outside the operator itself, and the Commission's 2025 figures show what it is mostly used for. Of the 1,143 complaints it dealt with, 756 were accepted as valid complaints, and 598 of those concerned late, delayed or refused payment. After investigation, 150 complaints were upheld in whole or in part in the player's favour.

The rules on timing are strict. A complaint must be filed in writing no sooner than seven days and no later than six months after the problem first arose, and it must show the steps already taken with the operator. For an operator under suspension, that window sits next to a second, unknown deadline: the date a revocation would end the Commission's intake. Einrai's ran 30 days from suspension to revocation.

What It Means for Canadian Players

Most players will never have heard of Polar Ventures SDRL, and that is the problem the notice creates: an affected customer may not know they are affected. A few practical checks cover it:

  • Read the footer, then the list. Note the company name in the casino's licence line and look for it, with the domain you play on, on the Kahnawà:ke permit-holder page.
  • Treat a name without a URL as unverified. If the operator name appears with no website, the list does not confirm which brand it runs.
  • File disputes early. If a withdrawal is stuck at a Kahnawà:ke-licensed site, wait the seven days the rules require, then file at complaints@gamingcommission.ca with screenshots and transaction IDs rather than waiting for the operator's status to change.
  • Move idle balances. A crypto balance sent to your own wallet does not depend on how a licensing dispute ends.

We will update this story if the Commission names the sites behind Polar Ventures SDRL or announces a revocation.
